The estate file of Gassaway Gaither's widow Mary contains a petition on March 25, 1852 from Ephraim Gaither, Burgess Gaither, Henry Austin and wife Elvira, Elisha Gibbs and wife Ellen, WILLIAM AND LAURA ROSEBORO, "infants of tender age by their next friend and guardian SAMUEL ROSEBORO", and Mary Frances and Alice March by their next friend and guardian W. B. March showing that Mary Gaither had died in testate possessed of a house and lot in Mocksville situated on main street adjoining and immediately north of the jail, being the lot upon which Mary lived at the time of her death, and which the petitioners were her heirs, and asked for a court decree to sell the house and lot.
