Franklin B. Baker
M, b. 4 March 1832, d. 9 November 1901
| Note* |
Need to re-check 1860 Union County Census-p.58, line 38.
Census lists Martha as his wife. Could possibly be a first wife. His headstone lists Keziah as his wife, possibly # 2 wife.
Also this Census lists as children Catherine and Serena. His obit mentions only two sons. Possibly girls died at a young age. Also another possibility could be sons are from a second marriage.
All speculation, need further documentation.
The 1860 Census also lists his brother Lyman as 21, and sister Diana as 19. Both were living with him.
Obit-Marysville Tribune-Nov 13, 1901:
"Franklin B. Baker died Saturday. Born March 4, 1832 in Miller Twp., Knox County, Ohio. He leaves a wife and two sons, one living in Michigan and the other in Fort Grant; also two sisters and three brothers, two of the latter being residents of Marysville-Lyman and Henry Baker. The deceased during his early life lived in Iowa and he enlisted in Co. E of the 25th Iowa Volunteers serving 3 years. He afterward lived at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, from which place he moved to Union County about four
years ago. Buried Bethlehem Cemetery."
Bethlehem and Caliborne Cemetery are one in the same.

Martha, could be Martha Wright, daughter of L.C. Wright, guardian of Franklin after William and Lucy Baker's death. Found Franklin in later census, living in Burlington Township, Licking County, Ohio, with a Martha, not far from L.C. Wright. Martha's age in 1850 Census and either 1860/70? Census matches up as the same, need to verify only a hunch. |
