Obituary:
Ruby Nichols worked at Charlie's Restaurant in Gauley Bridge, W.Va., for 10 years before moving to Elyria 40 years ago.
Mrs. Nichols, 83, died Monday at the Hospice of St. Joseph Residential Center in Lorain.
She was born in Oak Hill, W.Va., and graduated from Bluefield College with a degree in business.
She enjoyed singing, doing needlework and reading. She also wrote poetry.
Mrs. Nichols is survived by her sister, Rooksie Keith, and brother, Pete Keith (sic?), both of Elyria.
Her husband, Golden, is deceased. A son, Frederick Hill, died in infancy.
Private services were yesterday at Bogner-Busch Family Chapel in North Ridgeville.

Obituary:
Golden H. Nichols was a coal miner in West Virginia for many years before moving to Ohio and becoming a press operator at the General Motors Corp. plant in Parma.
Mr. Nichols, 81, died at Elyria Memorial Hospital Thursday.
He was born in Nicklas County, W.Va. He had lived in Elyria since 1953.
He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America in Stotesbury, W.Va., and of the United Auto Workers in Parma.
Mr. Nichols retired in 1973. He was a member of the Living Word Wesleyan Church in Elyria.
Mr. Nichols is survived by his wife, Ruby E., to whom he was married 52 years. A son, Frederick, is deceased.
Services will be at noon Monday at the Living Word Wesleyan Church, 1519 W. River Rd., Elyria.

Ramsey - Winnie Lee Dempsey, 93, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at her home, following a long illness.
Born March 11, 1907, in Nichols on Paint Creek, she was the daughter of the late Floyd E. McGraw and Emma Belle Terry McGraw.
Mrs. Dempsey was a member of the Horseshoe Baptist Church. She moved to Ramsey when she was 1 year old and has lived in the vicinity ever since. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph A. Dempsey; her twin sister, Willie Fox, and other sisters, Golda Kincaid, Gussie Ruth Cavendish, Hester Goad, Clyda Fox and Susie McGraw; and a brother, Woodrow McGraw.
Survivors include a nephew, Jerry W. McGraw of Ramsey; a niece, Cathy M. Skaggs of Ramsey; several more nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Verda McGraw of Ramsey; and two brothers-in-law, Rufus Dempsey of Fayetteville and Robert Dempsey of Ansted.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel, Ansted, with the Revs. Mark McClung and Daniel Legg officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens, Victor.
Friends may call noon until time of the services Wednesday at the funeral home.
