Jamesport, N.Y. - Willie Mae Dempsey Dixon, 84, formerly of Minden and Oak Hill, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, in Oak Hollow Nursing Home, Middle Island, N.Y., following a long illness.
Born Oct. 14, 1915, in Ansted, she was the daughter of the late Mallie Lee Gray Ayers and William Dempsey.
Mrs. Dixon was a homemaker and a member of Minden Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Dixon II; her stepfather, Walter Geter Ayers; two sons, Donald Lee Dixon and William Henry Dixon III; two brothers, Gordon Dempsey and Leonard Ayers; two sisters, Clara Hamilton and Thelma Baldry; and two grandchildren, Lori Jean and William Henry Dixon IV.
Survivors include three sons, Charles Edward Dixon and Richard Eugene "Cobby" Dixon, both of Oak Hill, and Kenneth Ray Dixon of Cincinnati; a daughter, Glenda Dixon Tetrault of Jamesport; two brothers, Kenneth Ayers of Ravenswood and Howard Ayers of Endicott, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with the Rev. Ray McClung officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Minden - Richard "Eugene" Dixon, 64, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, following a short illness.
Born Jan. 13, 1940, at Minden, he was the son of the late William Henry Dixon and Willie Mae Dempsey Dixon.
Mr. Dixon was the former owner of Fountain Shell Station, East Main Street, Oak Hill.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Lee Dixon and William Henry Dixon Jr.
Survivors include three daughters by Richard and Lupe Dixon, Cheryl Lynn Blethen and husband, Joseph, of Fort Mill, S.C., Nanette Dixon Cabell and husband, M. Charles, of Fort Mill and Karla Marie Jeffries and husband, Robert, of Hilltop; two brothers, Charles "Cobby" Dixon and wife, Maggie, of Oak Hill and Kenneth Ray Dixon and wife, Susan, of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister, Glenda "Sissy" Tetrault and husband, Gary, of Fayetteville; a sister-in-law, Jean Dixon of Oak Hill; and six grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, with the Rev. Jerry Bush officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.

Sue Dempsey, 77, of Longmont died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, at the Life Care Center in Longmont.
Born July 26, 1927, in Huntington, W.Va., to Oscar and Vonah (Evans) Diehl, she grew up and attended schools in Handley, W. Va.
Sue married Bernard L. Dempsey on March 22, 1947, in Russell, Ky. The couple moved to Boulder in 1957 from Tulsa, Okla., and then to Longmont in 1988.
Sue was a member of the Buffalo Belles. She also enjoyed entertaining, dancing, spending time with family and friends, and spending time at her familys cabin in Glendo, Wyo.
She is survived by her two sons, Stephen Dempsey and wife Laura of Lake Ozark, Mo., and Patrick Dempsey and wife Radine of Erie; her daughter, Robin Katzer of Loveland; her three grandchildren, Jessica, Alex and Nick Katzer; along with many close friends.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brother, Oscar Diehl.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary, Longmont. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, at Central Presbyterian Church, 402 Kimbark St., Longmont. Chaplain Marilyn Creel will officiate.
Inurnment will take place at Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder.
