Oak Hill - Mrs. Geneva Rebecca Vogt Dews of died Oct. 1, 1988, in Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill of an apparent heart attack. She was a retired Fayette County schoolteacher with 35 years' service at Oak Hill Elementary School. She was a member of Eastern Star, Oak Hill Baptist Church the Donnally Bible class and the Fitzgerald circle. She was a former member of Spade and Trowel Garden Club, Oak Hill. Surviving: husband, Herbert B. Dews; daughter, Mrs. Carol Pettrey of Fayetteville; brother, William J. Vogt of Baltimore; sisters, Clara Perry of Beckley and Ann Blaso of Suitland, Md.; two grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. David White and the Rev. Orlando, Fla. - Retired Army Major Eli Madison Dews, 83, of Orlando died Monday, July 21, 1997, in Florida. He was a native of Fayette County, W.Va., a member of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, Orlando, Sons of the American Revolution, Retired Officers Association, Sons of Confederate Veterans and Order of the Stars and Bars. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War and a former commercial bank examiner for the FDIC. Surviving: wife, Evelyn Dews; son, Retired Air Force Major John Daniel Dews; stepdaughter, Sharon Crandall Allen of Southport, N.C.; brother, Herbert Braxton Dews of Oak Hill, W.Va.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Memorial service was Thursday at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Robert Echerd and the Rev. Earl Tyson officiating. Burial was in Arlington National Cemetery with military graveside rites. The family suggests memorial contributions to Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church Building Fund. Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, Orlando, is in charge of arrangements.

Chatham, N.J. - Ernestine C. Williams Haag, 62, of Chatham, formerly of Fayette County, W.Va., died Aug. 23, 1998, at home. She was a native of Ansted, W.Va., and a sales assistant for American Airlines, Cranford. She was a member of Kiwi Club and St. Paul's Church, Chatham, and did volunteer work for Children's Specialized Hospital, Mountainside.
Surviving: husband, Robert G.; daughters, Deborah Harris Williams Rogero of Atlanta, Lori Haag Herrman of Erial, Jennifer Williams and Leslie Williams Reagoso, both of Chatham; son, Gary Haag of Florham Park; sister, Terry O'Dell of Canvas, W.Va.; five grandchildren.

Mrs. Rhoda N. Bryant, 80, of New Brunswick, N. J., formerly of Eccles, died in a New Brunswick hospital at 6 a.m. Tuesday following a short illness.
She was born at Ansted, June 19, 1892, a daughter of the late John and Nancy Noble. She had been a resident of New Brunswick for the past 17 years and prior to that time had lived in Eccles.
Her husband, J. L. Bryant, preceded her in death in 1956. She was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Lois Rodenbush of New Brunswick; one son, Bernard of New Brunswick; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Dempsey of Ansted; two grancchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Melton Mortuary Chapel at 1 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Larry W. Wall in charge. Burial will be in the Hill Top Cemetery.
Friends may call at Melton Mortuary from 5 until 9 p.m. Friday.
